September Gymformation
New Classes for Term 4
Our FreeG, GymFun, GymSkills and GymReach classes are all growing rapidly - we now have 130 new members and are pleased to open new classes next term.
Gym Fun/Skills: more classes to be available on Wednesdays and Saturdays, including a boys-only class on Saturdays
Pre-Gym/Fun: a new class for 4-5-year-olds
Rhythmic Recreation: a new class, more coming soon!
We are also expanding our Gym Reach, Development and Squad programs
If your child is enjoying their class, we'd appreciate you telling friends and family about PGA so that we can continue to grow.
Term 4 Re-Enrolments
Just a reminder for our families enrolled in term-based classes (GymFun, GymSkills & FreeG) that Term 4 enrolments need to be confirmed soon. To reduce the administrative burden on parents and to ensure that we can offer your child/ren the same class day and time, PGA will auto-enrol all students. We already have waiting lists for some classes, so this system allows us to secure class positions for existing members before offering places to new families. If your child is not returning to PGA next term, or if they would like to move to one of our new classes, please advise us by Monday, 20 September 2021.
School Holiday Training & Programs
Perth Gymnastics Academy is pleased to announce three new holiday gymnastics classes for kids. These are casual classes that are available to book online. No gymnastics experience is required, so it is a great opportunity to bring friends along and introduce them to gymnastics at PGA - more information is below!
Coach Updates
Perth Gymnastics Academy now has 12 coaches that coach each week, plus relief coaches available when needed. All PGA coaches are trained and accredited through Gymnastics Australia and we are proud to offer coaching pathways to our senior athletes. A special congratulations to current and former Squad 1 athletes, Olena Edmeades, Taya Lewis-Smith and Hannah Tarzan who completed their Beginner Coach Accreditation earlier this year. Coaches interested in joining PGA can find out more and apply here.

Class Updates & Notable Mentions
GymFun Update
Our first term of Gym Fun at PGA has been a great success. Our Wednesday 3:45 – 4:45pm class has booked out and we have opened a new Saturday 1:30 – 2:30pm class. Thank you to all the families who have supported the club. The children have been learning the Dominant Movement Patterns (DMPs) of gymnastics; static shapes, spring, landings, rotation, locomotion, swing and hand apparatus. It's been great to see the children’s confidence and coordination grow each session.
FreeG Update
This fast-paced class is also new to PGA and has received great feedback from its members. First developed by British Gymnastics, FreeG fuses traditional gymnastics and acrobatic tricks, with kicks and leaps made famous through martial arts and brought to worldwide attention by festival performances and stunt actors. Our FreeG members have made some great progress on their somersault development and have raced to improve their times in the parkour time trials.
