Full house for PGA at National Gymnastics Championships
April 9, 2022: Perth Gymnastics Academy (PGA) is pleased to announce that our senior gymnastics team, including coaches, will be representing Western Australia at the Australian National Gymnastics Championships 2022:
Coaches: Katherine Rogers (Head Coach) Dhana Antulov and Alicia Hayes
Senior International: Olena
Future International: Ursula and Summa
Level 10: Hannah and Chloe
Level 9: Alex
Level 8: Jasmin, Indigo, Amber, and Addison
Commenting on the news, PGA Chairperson Kim Tarzan said: “We are incredibly proud of our athletes, who all performed strong routines during the qualifying competitions. The selection of not only our athletes, but our senior coaching team, is testament to PGA’s philosophy and approach to coaching, which is grounded in High-Performance.”
Established as a club in 2021, PGA offers gymnastics classes for all ages and abilities. PGA’s competitive gymnasts follow the Australian Levels Program (ALP) which has athletes competing in both the National and International pathways. The club has grown to more than 200 members and maintains a strong focus on coaching quality and athlete safety and wellbeing.
Senior Coach Dhana Antulov said: “It’s wonderful to see the hard work our athletes have put in leading up to the competition season be rewarded with a position on the WA State Team. Our competitive gymnastics programs remain select-entry, enabling us to offer a differentiated program that will help our athletes develop to their fullest potential – and we think the results speak for themselves.”
Kim Tarzan said: “PGA’s level of representation on the WA State Team is a testament to the hard work and dedication of our athletes and coaching team. We are incredibly proud of our athletes, they set a wonderful example for the rest of our team and this achievement is so well deserved.”
PGA is based at HBF Stadium in Mount Claremont. We are grateful to Venues West for providing one of Australia’s best high-performance training facilities and helping us to meet the needs of our State, National and International athletes. As a not-for-profit club, PGA is proud to continue to make gymnastics an inclusive and accessible sport, and to provide high-performance coaching that enables exceptional athletes take their talents to the national and international stage.
The Australian National Gymnastics Championships will be held on the 11th- 15th of May at the Gold Coast Sports and Leisure Centre. PGA’s board and members wish all competing athletes and coaches the best of luck - let’s bring home gold for WA.
