Olena Edmeades to represent Australia at the Gymnova Cup in Belgium.
Perth Gymnastics Academy is excited to announce that Olena Edmeades has been selected to represent Gymnastics Australia at the Gymnova Cup in Belgium. Olena joins four other Women’s Artistic Gymnasts from acorss Australia, and will travel to Belgium in November with coach Dhana.
As a Senior International Gymnast representing Australia, Olena is required to attend several interstate training camps at the Australian Institute of Sport in Canberra, and mutliple international competitions each year. Much of Olena’s travel, and that of her coach, is self funded.

Olena stated gymnastics at the age of 5 and moved into the development squad soon after. She was selected onto her first Western Australian team at age 9 and her first Junior Australian team at age 12. Olena dedicates up to 28 hours a week training to the development of her skills, consistency, and artistry, to compete at gymnastics highest level as a Senior International.

Olena is currently studying year 12, and would like to study sport’s performance/occupational therapy as a profession with a commitment to both athletic and academic excellence.
As Gymnastics Australia have little funding, most of Olena’s travel is self funded, with the estimated cost for participation estimated to be $7000, which includes flights to London, travel to Wales for a training camp and then a train to Belgium, accommodation and food, competition uniform, competition fees and coach/judges levies, accreditation fee and ground transport for the duration of the event.
Having already travelled to Canberra for Paris 2024 gymnastics camp in February and July, and the Australian Gymnastics Championships in May, Australian National Clubs verification event in September in Qld, Olena would be extremely grateful for any donations that you could provide, that will assist her in gaining valuable experience and insight to enable her to continue chasing her dream of representing Australia at the highest level.
